Arizona State Schools for the Deaf and the Blind
Phoenix and Northern RegionPhoenix Day School for the DeafPDSD provides educational services to deaf and hard-of-hearing students from preschool through high school in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
North Central Regional Cooperative NCR provides services to children, their families and school districts in Flagstaff and the Northwestern part of Arizona. ASDB staff, working in the public schools, provide educational services in a mainstreamed setting.
Desert Valleys Regional Cooperative DVR provides services to children, their families and school districts in the Phoenix area and in the Central part of Arizona. ASDB staff, working in the public schools, provide educational services in a mainstreamed setting.
Eastern Highlands Regional CooperativeEHR provides services to children, their families and school districts in the Northeastern part of Arizona including the White Mountains. ASDB staff, working in the public schools, provide educational services in a mainstreamed setting.
Tucson and Southern Arizona Region
Tucson Campus
The Tucson campus offers day programs for students living in Tucson and boarding facilities for students living outside the Tucson area.
Programs on the Tucson campus include the:
- School for the Blind (ASB)
ASB focuses on the unique educational needs of students with visual impairments, including those with additional disabilities, aged 5 through 22 years.
- School for the Deaf (ASD)
ASD serves students who represent a wide range of cognitive and academic abilities. ASD has academic students who take geometry, biology, chemistry, American History, American Government, Deaf Studies, English, Literature and other academic subjects traditionally taught in an academic school. ASD also provides instruction and programming for deaf students who have additional disabilities, including mild or moderate mental retardation, attention deficit, learning disabilities, physical disabilities and a degree of vision loss.
- Preschool Programs for Visually Impaired Preschoolers (VIP) and Hearing Impaired Children (CHIC)
VIP and CHIC provide early intervention services for Arizona’s children, ages birth-5 who have a diagnosed bilateral, permanent hearing loss and/or a medically diagnosed visual impairment.
Southeast Regional Cooperative (SER)
With administrative offices in Tucson, Southeastern Regional Cooperative (SER) provides services to children, their families and school districts in the Tucson area and in the Southeastern part of Arizona. ASDB staff, working in the public schools, provide educational services in a mainstreamed setting.
Southwest Regional Cooperative (SWR)
With administrative offices in Yuma, Southwestern Regional Cooperative (SWR) provides services to children, their families and school districts in the Yuma area and in the Southwestern part of Arizona. ASDB staff, working in the public schools, provide educational services in a mainstreamed setting.
Early Childhood and Family Education (ECFE)
ECFE offers outreach and preschool services to sensory impaired childern from birth to five in Arizona.
Technical Assistance to Schools (TAS)
TAS provides assessments for students and training for staff in assessment, communication, deafblindness, learning disabilities, low vision and multiple disabilities.
Information Technologies (IT)
IT provides technical assistance to the entire ASDB Agency for computer hardware and infrastructure, ASDB's internal network servers, staff training and Help Desk support.
